You seem to have totally misinterpreted the message here.

I am not commenting on the meaning of "right" and "wrong". I am commenting on the belief that there is something intrinsically wrong with us, and if we could live up to invented notions of "righteousness" that the world will improve.

The moral of the story is that there is no need for salvation because the beauty of humanity lies in our imperfections. No one is perfect, and trying to be perfect is a useless pursuit that can only end with feelings of guilt and inadequacy.

To repeat:

And there was a time in our history when we didn’t seek salvation because no one thought the human condition was something they needed saving from.

The world will only improve when all six billion of us stop trying to live up to the fictitious reputations of saints and superstars. When we start looking inward for ethical guidance instead of taking commandments from above.

I don't believe that a "savior" ever "came" because I don't believe a "savior" ever was necessary.

So are you admiting that there is such a thing as human depraivity?

Are you saying there is such a thing as right and wrong?

If you are then it seems the only real Hope for humanity and indeed this planet, is a savior, if you will.

And if you are saying there is no such thing as evil or right or wrong, then all of your accusations against the three folks you mentioned, and also all of the accusations of this magazine, are indeed baseless.

They didn't do anything wrong because there is no right and wrong.

and so the problem of evil and pain and suffering is really not a problem at all, because we are all JUST carbon based units, (accidents) doing whatever it is that these random chemicals are bound to do next.

As these chemicals fall into place sometimes they do stuff pleasurable like eat ice cream, and sometimes they do stuff unpleasuable, like murder your friends.

But i think that only the most devout nihilists would actually think that there is no such thing as evil.

So sometimes humans invent saints and saviors, but one time i think one actually came.

right in the middle of history, right in the middle of the world.

ask me who...

peace love and anarchy.

Hmmm. Perhaps the point of the "saints and superstars" was (is) to point out the humanity of them and us (even Jesus, as he is God AND human). Some (many) of us six billion ARE screwing things up. I guess it is the great riddle of life.

By the way,

I doubt Jesus smacked women around and I also doubt that he fantasized about young boys. He was a Jew and those practices, at the time, where carried out by some of the pagan Romans . Probably carried over by the highly podasteristic Greek culture.
